Hello, and welcome to the Conackamack Middle School Media Center website! My name is Christopher Ross, and I am the Media-Tech Specialist and the Technology Coordinator for the school. Previous to this position, I have served as a professional librarian for over 16 years in a variety of School Media Specialist positions at levels ranging from K-12.
This year we are proud to be implementing a new and improved Media and Technology Literacy program at Conackamack. This program integrates both technology and research into a model designed to provide students with both the necessary knowledge and tools to pursue research in an independent and responsible fashion and the skills to understand, examine and filter the variety of perspectives and biases inherent in the information they gather. This program will provide a range of hands-on experiences in methods of collecting and assessing information using a variety of technology tools and translating this research into independent projects designed by the students.
In addition to my duties as the school Media Specialist, I have a secondary role as the Technology Coordinator handling IPad and general technology-related issues in the building.
