Conackamack uses creativity to add table tennis program to phys ed
Conackmack Middle School used creativity and resourcefulness to expand its physical education offerings to include table tennis!
Physical Education teachers Johanna Reid, Justin Strasser and Matt Culkin were able to purchase equipment to transform 15 cafeteria lunch tables into fully functional table tennis stations.
The funds were made available through a grant from the Piscataway Education Foundation, part of $18,000 given to 8 schools throughout our district to fund innovative initiatives.
Conackamack’s table tennis program provides students with the opportunity to learn a new sport that is inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and engaging for all fitness levels. In addition to building physical skills, table tennis fosters meaningful social interaction, encourages relationship-building, and helps students develop sportsmanship.
