Conackamack energizes students with media center redesign

Conackamack Middle School students are excited to explore the possibilities of the school’s media center!

Media technology teacher Erin Torres, with help from teacher Maria Elster and building-based sub LeAnna Urenko, redesigned the functionality of the media center, making it a more conducive learning environment. It is now a more welcoming place for students to read, learn, research, collaborate, and explore new interests.

As students returned to school, the media center quickly became a place filled with energy and enthusiasm. Students explored the shelves, checked out books, discovered new titles, and reunited with some of their favorite stories and authors. More than 200 books were borrowed in the first few days of availability.
