Students in Nicole Kragh’s sixth-grade social studies class at Conackamack Middle School had the opportunity to celebrate and share for Hindu Heritage Month in October through engaging presentations and hands-on demonstrations!

Students proudly shared aspects of their backgrounds, introducing classmates to meaningful traditions, delicious cuisine, and traditional clothing. The presentations provided a wonderful opportunity for students to learn from one another, ask questions, and appreciate the diverse cultures in their classroom.

One of the highlights of the experience was the opportunity to participate in a traditional cultural dance using dandiyas, decorated sticks used in Indian folk dances. Students enjoyed learning the movements and experiencing a part of the culture firsthand.

The celebration was a meaningful reminder that our differences make our school community stronger.
